Terms & Conditions
Baggage Recovery & Carriage Regulations
These terms govern the use of the baggage recovery portal provided by AeroFind. By submitting a report, you acknowledge that AeroFind acts as an authorized handling agent for the operating carrier.
01 Montreal Convention Applicability
Liability for the loss, delay, or damage of baggage during international carriage is governed by the Montreal Convention of 1999. The liability of the carrier is limited to 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) per passenger, unless a higher value was declared at check-in.
02 Mandatory Reporting Deadlines
Damaged Bag
7 Days
Reports of damage must be filed in writing within 7 days of receipt of baggage.
Delayed Bag
21 Days
Reports of delay must be filed within 21 days from the date the baggage was placed at your disposal.
03 Handling Agent Status
AeroFind (AeroFind v1) provides technical and operational baggage handling services on behalf of the operating airline. AeroFind v1 does not assume the carrier's liability for lost or damaged items. Final claims and compensation remain the responsibility of the carrier under their conditions of carriage.
04 Passenger Obligations
Passengers are required to provide accurate, truthful, and complete information. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the recovery claim. Passengers must also take reasonable steps to mitigate their losses (e.g., purchasing essential items and providing itemized receipts).
05 Tracing Period
Commercial airlines typically trace missing baggage for a period of up to 21 days using the WorldTracer network. If the baggage is not located within this window, it may be declared legally lost, and the passenger will be directed to file a formal claim with the airline's customer relations department.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which AeroFind is registered, subject to the overarching requirements of the Montreal Convention and IATA Resolution 780 for baggage processing.
